Color Striping Butyrate Tubing

Transparent bends with color stripes running through the lenght

One of our customers had a need to color several hundred ft. of tubing for three pneumatic conveying lines. The lines travel overhead at the factory ceiling as a labyrinth of turns and curves. The plant manager wanted a way to easily view each line from the floor. We offered two options. One was to extrude in transparent colors, and the other was to stripe our transparent stock tubing which was a cost-effective option that did the job admirably.

Striping with a solvent is not painting. Paint can scratch off. But a solvent colorant embeds into the outer layer to the tube. It produces a smooth transparent color that is lasting and permanent. It works well on butyrate, acrylic, and polycarbonate tubing.
