When Boss display contacted us to make a colored-tubing exhibit we were hesitant to take the order. The display consists of four large bends with clockwise and counterclockwise rotations with evolving radii and angles. But, these tubes would be twenty-two feet in length! The original design showed the 3-D view of the bend. The bend would mostly stay in two dimensions but would loop and finally take a hard 90° mitered turn so as to allow the conveyed scarf to exit toward the children.
We had to devise a radical bending method that would not only allow us to make the shape but to keep the 0.125 wall Butyrate tube from buckling.

The result! Just as we had envisioned. We were quite happy with this, as was our customer.
In the clip above you can see the color shading of the tubes from darker blue to blue-green aquamarine.
